Mechanical properties of PLA 3D

In today’s society cost effectiveness and environment friendly design of a product process plays a vital part. This composition focuses towards the newer manufacturing fashion 3D Printing and its feasibility to perpetration towards biomedical factors. 3D Printing is a technology which can produce complex figures into a solid model. This solid model is made up of a Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) system which is a type of rapid-fire prototyping system. In this study Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) is considered as an alternative to the being material. PLA is a biodegradable polymer which possesses good strength and biodegradable properties which is largely demanded in the product of newer factors through 3D Printing . The study begins with the creation of a solid 3D model grounded on the ASTM norms to test the strength of the material using micro tensile testing and biodegradable testing of elements using the tip system. The results easily shows that the strength of the test instance is explosively satisfies which can be further used as any biomedical element as well as the land fill test of the instance over a period of 30 days to 60 days shows good amount of weight reduction which is also a fine outgrowth of this exploration work. Another way to degrade PLA by using bacterial declination similar to Amycolatopsis coloradensis is suitable to degrade PLA. A purified protease from amycolatopsis sp., PLA depolymerase, can also degrade PLA.
